Once upon a time ...
During Spring 1998 the Name "Swissjet" could be read the first time in the Internet - a site for people who are interested in aviation and pictures of aircraft. The first version has shown 16 pictures, what was very humble for that time. But the range of this site has accelerated very fast in cause of the high interest from the fans and also the feedback of them. Reports from events like the Axalp Firepower Demonstration oder big airshows like the IBAS 1998 are the main themes on the swissjet homepage.
In the past years the visitors could also watch some changes in the design of this site, animations and multi-part frames included. But, the webmaster has recognized soon that the visitors of swissjet.ch just wanted to see good pictures and not a complex design, which made the site especially in "analog times" of internet very slow. That's the matter, why the site of Swissjet was kept simple. And the webmaster has done, what he can do as best: taking impressive pictures of aircraft in action and presenting them on the Swissjet homepage in best possible quality!
Over the years another change can be found on this site - the change from a News-like site to a picture archiv, sorted by themes, like the new railway section shows this exactly. The Webmaster of this site uses his leisure time and maybe you can imagine, this time wouldn't be bigger over the years! That's why it's nearly impossible now, to present pictures within a day after the event was held. So, for the future, this will be the "business" of other aviation and picture sites, to present top new pictures in the internet.
Instead of that, Swissjet will concentrate furthermore the whole energy, to present pictures of today and past in different themes. And I, as I am the webmaster and photographer of this site and the pictures on it, hope, that I can inspire you for the next years with impressive pictures out of the aviation and railways!
